Manchester United block Chelsea’s attempts to sign Dean Henderson
According to a report from Football Insider (h/t Mirror), Manchester United have blocked the efforts of Chelsea to sign academy graduate Dean Henderson this summer.
The 23-year-old Henderson is a product of the Manchester United academy. Having come through the youth ranks rapidly, the Englishman has been out on loan for the past three seasons.
Having spent a year at Shrewsbury Town, Henderson has been with Sheffield United since 2018 and has truly excelled during his time at Bramall Lane.
The 23-year-old played an integral role in Sheffield United earning promotion to the Premier League last season and has continued in his brilliant ways this time out, helping them push for a top six finish.
So far, Henderson has featured in 34 Premier League matches, letting in just 29 goals, while keeping a total of 13 clean sheets. His exploits have reportedly led to interest from our rivals Chelsea.
The Blues are in the market for a replacement for the inconsistent Kepa Arrizabalaga and their manager Frank Lampard has identified the 23-year-old Henderson as the ideal choice to take over the No. 1 spot at Stamford Bridge. (h/t Mirror)
To that end, the Blues have already made an approach to United inquiring the possibility of signing the Englishman. The Red Devils, though, have rejected their approach. The club has no intention of strengthening a direct rival, by selling a player of Henderson’s quality. (h/t Mirror)

Henderson still has two years left on his current contract with United. The 23-year-old has done enough to become the No. 1 at Old Trafford next season. But with David de Gea and Sergio Romero at the club, it will be interesting to see what Ole Gunnar Solskjaer decides to do.
However, as far as a potential transfer to Chelsea is concerned, the Blues can it.
