Twitter reacts as Manchester United given boost in top-four pursuit
At the start of the weekend, Manchester United were fifth, just outside the top four. Our Champions League hopes were well and truly alive but out of our hands.
Fast forward to Monday and not only is it within touching distance but our destiny is now in our hands. If United defeat Southampton, they will finish the night in third spot.
If Chelsea’s defeat to Sheffield United came as a shock, Leicester’s fall to Bournemouth was a godsend. With our rivals faltering, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer should take full advantage of the situation.
The Red Devils have been in brilliant form since the restart. With a 17-match unbeaten run ongoing, we are primed to take advantage of the situation.
A return to Europe’s top table is on the cards. Opportunities in football seldom present themselves. United must now get the job done against Southampton.
A number of fans took to Twitter to express their joy on the situation. We take a look at a few of them below.

I hope Manchester United don’t do their regular thing tomorrow night
Leicester City are crumbling. I said before the restart of the season that they would finish fifth, Manchester United third and Chelsea fourth and I am still holding my groun

If Chelsea lose against Liverpool then basically @ManUtd need 3 more matches to win out of 4 remaining to seal the top 4 spot .The win against Leicester City will be an ‘icing on the cake’ for us.#GGMU #Reddevils

Chelsea lost their advert – zero (3-0) to Sheffield United, now Leicester city are loosing to Bournemouth, both Chelsea and Leicester top Manchester United with less than 3 point, but the most interesting thing is that we played 34 games while they played 35
