Mason Greenwood is the most accurate striker in the League
According to FBREF.com (h/t Daily Star), Manchester United starlet Mason Greenwood has been revealed to be the most accurate striker in the English Premier League.
The 18-year-old is one of the best young talents at United and also in England. He has made 22 appearances for the club in the PL and has scored five times this season. (h/t Transfermarkt)
According to the report, Greenwood has hit the target with 57.1% of his shots this term. He joins an elite list of six players to hit the target once in every two attempts.
It is incredible given that the youngster had played just once in the competition prior to this season.
The comparison does not include penalties taken which is a fair representation of a striker’s accuracy in open play.
Greenwood took 21 shots of which 12 were on target. The next best Red is Anthony Martial in the 13th position. The Frenchman hit the target with 47.5% of his 59 shots. (h/t Daily Star)
Much is expected of Greenwood who has so far shown so signs of slowing down. A youngster who looks up to Wayne Rooney and former Brazilian star Ronaldo, he surely is developing at the right rate.
