Manchester United keen on Leicester City star Wilfred Ndidi
According to the Express, Manchester United have added Leicester City star Wilfred Ndidi to their summer transfer shortlist.
The 23-year-old has been an integral component in Brendan Rodgers’ system as the Foxes lie comfortably in the third spot in the league.
Filling the void left by N’Golo Kante is a tough ask. The young Nigerian has done it seamlessly and done it well. Ndidi racked up 138 tackles in his debut Premier League campaign. This left him 25 ahead of Kanté. (h/t LCFC)
He followed it up last season with 143 tackles, 14 more than then Crystal Palace star Aaron Wan-Bissaka. His ability to orchestrate and also break up play from the back has allowed the attacking talents such as James Maddison and Youri Tielemans to thrive.
United are firmly in the race for Ajax Amsterdam star Donny van de Beek. However, if we do miss out on the Dutchman, Ole Gunnar Solskaer will turn his attentions to Ndidi. (h/t Express)
It is in many ways a safer option, given the Nigerian international’s familiarity with the English game. His ability to also play long passes from the back will add to the attacking threat we possess.
Although the midfielder’s performances have drawn interest from Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid, the duo have cooled their interest in him. (h/t Express)
United are also interested in Corentin Tolisso. One major concern we should have regarding the Frenchman is his injury history. He has been sidelined for 55 games during his time at Bayern Munich.

Ndidi will be an excellent player to sign. Paul Pogba and Bruno Fernandes will don the number 10 and number 8 roles respectively.
The duo will find it easier to go forward knowing well that the Nigerian would protect them at the back.
