Borussia Dortmund are also resigned to losing the England international this summer. But they are unwilling to lower their transfer fee demands of £116m. (h/t Evening Standard)
The report adds that Dortmund have run out of patience with the 20-year-old’s off-the-field issues. Last week, he was fined by the German football league for flouting the country’s coronavirus safety guidelines by having a haircut without the use of personal protective equipment.
In addition, Sancho is also reported to have missed training and came late to a meeting, leading to some displeasure within the club. His frequent trips to England have also become a problem. (Bild h/t Evening Standard)
Manchester United manager Solskjaer has previously stressed that he wants the right characters within the team. To that end, he held discussions with Marcus Rashford, who is a close friend of Sancho, before going ahead with a bid for the 20-year-old. (h/t Evening Standard)

Rashford has been vocal about his England teammate in the past. He previously urged the club to make a move, saying:
“Sancho is a great player. He’s like the new generation player. It’s definitely exciting to watch the player he’s becoming — hopefully we can all play together. That would be good.”
Having gotten the seal of approval from Rashford, Solskjaer and United are ready to press ahead with the interest in Sancho. There is no doubt that his arrival would take our team to the next level. Hopefully, Ed Woodward doesn’t mess this one up.
