Twitter reacts as Odion Ighalo prepares to leave Manchester United
According to MEN, Odion Ighalo will leave Manchester United at the end of this week.
The Nigerian, who is currently on loan at Old Trafford, will return to his parent club Shanghai Shenhua. The Chinese are keen to have the striker back ahead of the start of the Chinese Super League season.
Although his loan was supposed to last until May 31, with football suspended, he seems to have played his last match in our colours.
United still have 9 Premier League games to play while also remaining alive in both the Europa League and the FA Cup. They are keen to keep the player until the end of this season and have held discussions regarding the same.
However, Chinese authorities are hopeful of beginning the Chinese Super League season in late June or early July. Shanghai are therefore keen to have their 30-year-old ace back.
Although his arrival at Old Trafford came as a shock, Ighalo chose to do his talking on the pitch. He has scored four goals and one assist in eight games and is yet to lose as a United player.
Playing for the club one supports is a dream come true for any player. For Ighalo, it has been a short-lived but fruitful one indeed. The Nigerian can leave with his head held high.
A number of fans took to social media to react to this news. We take a look at at a few tweets below.

It’s a pity but he can hold his head high for his efforts & achievements in the time he was with the club. He lived the dream. Thank you @ighalojude 👏 & also the amazing work you do in your orphanage.
