Manchester United agree deal worth £62m for Moussa Dembele

According to Todofichajes (h/t Daily Star), Manchester United have agreed on a massive £62m deal for Lyon striker Moussa Dembele.

Having spent more than anyone else since last year, the Red Devils look like they are set to do more of the same this upcoming window.

The Red Devils were keen on bringing in Dembele in January but were unable to do this. Rather than give in, they have gone back and got their man on the second attempt.

The 23-year-old has enjoyed an impressive season at the Groupama Stadium and has scored an impressive 22 goals and 7 assists in 42 appearances.

United have been short of options up front since they failed to replace Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez last summer. Had it not been for the form shown by Odion Ighalo, the fallout of Marcus Rashford’s injury could have seen us drop more points.

However, with the Nigerian international’s loan deal coming to a close, securing another attacker has become a priority. In Dembele, we will be securing a player who is already familiar with English football.

The Frenchman has made more than 150 appearances, having played for both Fulham and Celtic.

United’s task was made easier due to Lyon’s current financial state. With no European football to offer next season, club president Jean-Michel Aulas has openly admitted that he might have no choice but to sell his stars.

One team’s misfortune is another’s opportunity. Thankfully, we are in the green here.
