Manchester United make contact with representatives of Alassane Plea
According to Sky Germany (h/t Metro), Manchester United have made contact with the representatives of Borussia Monchengladbach attacker Alassane Plea.
The 27-year-old has enjoyed an impressive season and has notched up 8 goals and 8 assists in 28 games so far this season. With the Bundesliga scheduled to return this week, he could be in line to add to that tally.
His performances have not gone unnoticed, with the likes of Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur among his known admirers.
In spite of the English football season currently in limbo, the Red Devils have not been inactive. According to the report, they have intensified their efforts to sign the player ahead of next season.
Ed Woodward’s had earlier asserted that the upcoming transfer window will be unlike any we have seen before. Despite his comments, United are keen to add to their attack.
United considerably improved their backline with the addition of Harry Maguire and Aaron Wan-Bissaka last summer.
It appears to be the turn of the areas further up this time, with Plea an imposing presence in the attack. His ability to play anywhere along the front-line will be another added bonus.
With the future of Odion Ighalo uncertain, United are keen to push ahead for Jadon Sancho and Plea. The latter still has three years left on his contract and is valued at around £21m.

United continued to make key additions to their squad in January. The Bruno Fernandes saga finally came to an end as the player made the move to Old Trafford.
The Portuguese immediately upped the quality of the United midfield. Having an athletic presence like Plea in front of him will only further add to our options.
Signing the Frenchman will also lessen the load on star striker Marcus Rashford. The youngster has been overplayed at times. An addition will only help ease his workload.
