Fred backs James Garner to make it big at Manchester United
According to Trivela (h/t Mirror), Manchester United star Fred has backed James Garner to make it big at Old Trafford.
The Brazilian’s choice will come as a surprise to some especially having seen the likes of Mason Greenwood and Brandon Williams go from strength to strength this season.
However, Fred thinks Garner is a special talent. He believes the youngster’s passing ability and vision will take him a long way in his career (h/t Mirror).
“The player who impresses me most is Jimmy Garner.”
Garner made his debut for United from the bench against Crystal Palace in February last year. He also went on to make his first start during the 1-0 victory against Partizan Belgrade in the Europa League last October. He has gone on to make three more appearances in the competition this season.
A defensive midfielder, Garner is also capable of slotting in at center-back. He has been at United since 2009 and will have seen first-hand the success the club garnered on a regular basis.
United have consistently had players come up through the youth system. Fred believes that it is important for the club to provide the framework for the youngsters to succeed (h/t Mirror).
Playing in the same position as him, Fred will have a better understanding of what makes Garner special (h/t Mirror).
“He always plays with his head up, has an impressive shot and is an incredible passer. He is a player that I admire a lot.”
It is good to see that we have more than one talent coming through. With the effect the coronavirus crisis has on the transfer market uncertain, having a successful youth system can go a long way in mitigating potential transfer losses.
United seem to be on the right path and long may it continue.
