Solskjaer wants Saul Niguez to partner Bruno Fernandes at Man United
According to a report by Daily Express, Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer believes Saul Niguez would be the perfect partner for Bruno Fernandes in the midfield.
The Atletico Madrid star has been one of United’s long-term targets and now that Solskjaer has found an important role for him, the club could make a renewed attempt to sign him once the summer transfer window commences (h/t Daily Express).
Fernandes has been a revelation since joining United. His goalscoring skills have come in handy for a side that was struggling to score enough goals. And his passion and determination off the field appear to have pushed his teammates to do better as well.
To ensure that the Portuguese star is able to perform at his best, Solskjaer feels that Niguez would be the best choice as far as finding him a midfield partner is concerned.
As things stand, United were on an 11-game unbeaten run before the season was suspended until the end of April due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. Suffice to say, the Norwegian boss has sparked a much-awaited turnaround in our fortunes.
The report adds that signing Niguez might not be all that difficult, considering his increasingly strained relationship with manager Diego Simeone.
