Jadon Sancho privately confirms transfer to Manchester United
According to a report by Irish Independent (h/t The Mirror), Borussia Dortmund ace Jadon Sancho has unofficially confirmed that he will join Manchester United.
Estimated to cost somewhere in the region of £100million, the report claims that United are confident about landing the English attacker once the summer transfer window commences.
The current season is on hold due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. Footballing action is expected to resume at the end of April but it remains to be seen if it is extended further – and how that would affect the transfer window.
Regardless, Sancho has privately confirmed a transfer to United, with fellow Premier League rivals Chelsea and Liverpool cooling their interest in the 20-year-old (h/t The Mirror).
Sancho, who came through Manchester City’s youth ranks before moving to Dortmund as a teenager, is believed to be keen on a move even if United fail to secure Champions League promotion (h/t The Mirror) whenever the season ends.
The report indicates that Sancho is likely to receive the coveted No. 7 jersey if he does join United. It was last worn by Alexis Sanchez, who is on a loan spell with Inter Milan for the season.
