Former Man United star Marouane Fellaini diagnosed with coronavirus
According to a report by BBC, former Manchester United midfielder Marouane Fellaini has tested positive for coronavirus.
Fellaini has become the latest casualty of the deadly outbreak that continues to affect numerous countries across the world.
The 32-year-old, who currently plays for Chinese club Shandong Luneng, is currently hospitalized at Jinan hospital which is said to specialize in infectious diseases (h/t BBC).
An official statement (h/t BBC) from his current club confirmed that the player tested positive during the quarantine observation period and is undergoing treatment for the same.
The report adds that Fellaini is, in fact, the only Chinese league player to have been affected by the disease.
Having spent 11 seasons in England with Everton and United, Fellaini is a battle-hardened Premier League veteran. Under former manager Jose Mourinho, he played a key role in the middle of the park and put in some commanding displays until he chose to exit Old Trafford.
