Alexis Sanchez eager to make United departure permanent
Manchester United attacker Alexis Sanchez is keen on exiting the club permanently in the summer, according to Gazzetta del Sporto (h/t The Express).
The Chilean star’s move to Old Trafford hasn’t panned out well and he has struggled to make an impact for the Red Devils.
Currently, on loan at Inter-Milan, Sanchez has made 14 appearances for the Nerazzurri, scoring one goal and three assists.
The 31-year-old has been beset by injuries at the San Siro and has made just two starts all season.
Inter are reluctant to make the deal permanent, given United’s reluctance to reduce the asking price.
According to a report from Calciomercato (h/t The Sun), the Italians are demanding improved performances from the Chilean.
Ole Gunnar Solksjaer had previously indicated that the player will be given a second chance at Old Trafford. The Norwegian is likely to agree to a sale if Inter makes a substantial offer.
Ironically, he would have been the perfect replacement for Marcus Rashford, who is out injured.
Inter are currently in the third spot in the Serie-A, six points off leaders Juventus having played a game less.
