Solksjaer rules Tuanzebe and Fosu-Mensah out of Club Brugge clash
Manchester United have an almost fit squad to choose from for the Europa League second leg against Club Brugge, according to manager Ole Gunnar Solksjaer (h/t Manutd.com).
The United boss, however, ruled out Axel Tuanzebe and Timothy Fosu-Mensah before proceeding to provide an update on their status.
He stressed on the need to have the pair play a reserve or a friendly match before they are thrown into the first-team.
Both the youngsters are recovering from significant injuries and are yet to feature for the Red Devils this year.
Fosu-Mensah is yet to feature since undergoing knee surgery in the summer, while Tuanzebe had been sidelined with a thigh problem since the Carabao Cup tie against Colchester in December.
Paul Pogba Marcus Rashford and Lee Grant remain long-term absentees and are also ruled out of the match. Solksjaer confirmed that United picked up a couple of knocks in training and there is nothing to be worried about.
“We’ve got a strong and fit 25-man squad and it was a good session. We’re looking stronger.”
The United boss is confident of his options going into the tie and accepts that the team is now stronger.
