Manchester United send scouts to watch Sporting star Bruno Fernandes
According to a report from Portuguese news outlet, A Bola, Manchester United were among a trio of European clubs to have sent scouts to watch Sporting Lisbon star, Bruno Fernandes.
Bruno Fernandes, 24, who is considered to be one of the most talented players outside the five big leagues, has enjoyed a sensational season with Sporting Lisbon. The 24-year-old has an impressive 16 goals and 11 assists from 28 Liga NOS games this season.
He scored his 28th goal of the season against Aves at the weekend, where alongside Manchester United, scouts from Paris Saint-Germain, Juventus and some clubs from France and Germany were also in attendance, claims A Bola.
The upcoming summer transfer window looks set to be a big one for Manchester United. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has a lot of planning to do following our team’s drop in performance levels and form in recent weeks. The Norwegian has worked minor miracles since succeeding Jose Mourinho back in December, reinstating the club’s philosophy of quick, sleek and expansive football.
But Solskjaer needs the right kind of players to thrive in his system at Old Trafford from next season. The defence remains a big concern and the midfield can lack strength and flair at times if Paul Pogba has a bad day at the office. Fred and Scott McTominay have stepped up in recent games, but our club would need a replacement for Ander Herrera, who is believed to have signed a pre-contract agreement with Paris Saint-Germain, as per the Manchester Evening News.
Manchester United could do well with Bruno Fernandes
Someone like Bruno Fernandes would be an instant upgrade over the potentially outgoing Herrera at United. The Portuguese has been fantastic this season, impressing with his passing range, creativity, vision and goalscoring ability.

Whether Fernandes would be attainable or not is another matter but it is that profile of midfielder that Solskjaer should be targeting this summer.
