Manchester United to battle Manchester City for Saul Niguez
Manchester United are set to invest heavily in their squad next season and are targetting Saul Niguez, according to ESPN (h/t Express).
The 24-year-old Atletico Madrid star has 37 appearances for the club this season and has six goals and one assist to his name.
The report adds that Manchester City are also keeping tabs on the midfielder, but the Red Devils have had a long-standing interest in Niguez.
The 24-year-old can play across the midfield and has even played a few games as a full-back this season for the La Liga club.
The report claims that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer sees Niguez as the perfect player alongside Paul Pogba and Nemanja Matic next season.
One of the best in La Liga
The 24-year-old has been one of the best midfielders in La Liga, and it will be interesting seeing if we can beat Man City for his signature.
Manchester United didn’t spend much in the previous summer window but Solskjaer needs backing from the management in the summer window.
The team seems a little light in certain areas, and our hopes of a top four spot come the end of the season received a major blow in midweek.
