Out-of-favour Man United defender emerges on Serie A giants’ radar

Eric Bailly

AC Milan are interested in Manchester United defender Eric Bailly and want to sign him in January, according to Corriere dello Sport (h/t Metro).

The 24-year-old Ivorian has struggled for game time this season and last played in our 3-2 win over Newcastle United at Old Trafford.

The report adds that Bailly is unsure if Jose Mourinho has lost faith in him and adds that Arsenal are interested in the 24-year-old too.

There is interest from another Premier League club, Tottenham, and the report claims Arsenal have made a second enquiry about Bailly’s availability.

The centre-back was one of the best in the world when he joined United, but things have not worked out for him at Old Trafford under the manager.

The report claims that Mourinho wants to sign a new defender in January and could sell some players to raise funds.

It will be interesting to see what happens with Bailly in the coming weeks. United prefer Chris Smalling and Victor Lindelof at the heart of the defence but we have struggled to keep clean sheets this season.

Bailly could strengthen some of our rivals and it would be a major blow to sell him to a Premier League club in the winter window.

Mourinho didn’t get a central defender in the summer window but it looks like he wants to change that in January.
