AC Milan are willing to bid for Manchester United defender Eric Bailly, sources have told ESPN.
The Ivorian hasn’t featured for United since the 3-2 win over Newcastle United, and the report claims that he is worried about falling out of favour under Jose Mourinho.
The former Villarreal defender has seen the likes of Victor Lindelof and Chris Smalling being preferred in the defence this season. The report adds that there have been no discussions about a new contract with the defender, even though his deal ends at the end of the season.
Bailly is happy at United and the report adds that there is some interest from teams within the Premier League.
Milan want to find out the price for the defender and the report claims Bailly could be sold to free up some funds for the manager.
Mourinho wants another defender in the winter window, as per the report, and the club could also sell Marcos Rojo to generate additional funds. The Argentine hasn’t featured for United this season, even though he has a contract till 2021.
Bailly has struggled to perform this season at the club, but it comes as a bit of a surprise that we are willing to sell the 24-year-old in the winter window.

From the current crop of defenders, only Bailly and Lindelof have the potential to get better. However, if we can get someone who can perform from day one and not take time to bed in, selling the Ivorian defender makes some sense.
