The Sun reports that Manchester United are considering Mat Ryan of Brighton & Hove Albion as a replacement for David de Gea.
The report adds that Old Trafford bigwigs are preparing for a future without the Spaniard after the keeper decided to not sign a new contract that was presented to him.
And that’s why United have stepped up their search for a quality replacement with Ryan coming up as a “surprise” name at the top of their list, according to the report.
The 26-year-old has been impressive for Brighton since they made it to the Premier League, and the Australian could get even better in the years to come.
However, he isn’t on the same level as De Gea, and frankly, the Spanish keeper will be tough to replace. The former Atletico Madrid man is possibly the best keeper in the world and losing him would be a big blow to our side.
The report claims that Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain are in the market for the keeper. The report further adds the French giants will offer De Gea “anything he wants” to help the Ligue 1 side win the Champions League.
The 26-year-old Ryan is a good keeper, but there are better options than him in the market that we should target as a possible replacement for De Gea.
