Manchester United pair Anthony Martial and Paul Pogba are open to the possibility of Zinedine Zidane replacing Jose Mourinho at Old Trafford, according to the Telegraph (h/t Metro).
The Metro claims that Mourinho is under pressure at United due to an increasingly strained relationship with Ed Woodward and the management.
The Metro, however, claims that Mourinho has the backing of United’s board but Zidane is the first choice should there be more issues.
If the club decides to replace Mourinho with Zidane, the Telegraph claims that a number of players would support the decision, including Pogba and Martial.
The report from the Metro adds that Martial was close to leaving Old Trafford in the summer due to a lack of games since the arrival of Alexis Sanchez. The report further claims that Mourinho even criticized the Frenchman for not returning to the club’s US tour after the birth of his child.
Pogba, for his part, has had a number of run-ins with Mourinho and the report adds that the World Cup winner wanted a transfer away from Old Trafford too.
The report concludes by claiming that playing under Zidane would appeal to the French duo.
