Manchester United ready to launch January move to sign 18-year-old English sensation

Manchester United are planning a January move for Fulham youngster Ryan Sessegnon, as per the Express.

Sessegnon was one of the best players in the Championship last season and the 18-year-old helped the Cottagers gain promotion via the playoffs as well.

The report adds that Jose Mourinho has kept tabs on the English youngster and that the player has been scouted by the Red Devils and Liverpool.

Sessegnon can play either as a left-back or a left-winger but most of his best displays have come further up the pitch.

The 18-year-old scored 16 times and provided eight assists for Fulham last season and is regarded as one of the brightest players in the English game.

The report from the Express claims that Sessegnon is also a contender to book a spot for himself in Gareth Southgate’s England squad.

United signed three players in the summer but the report adds that Mourinho’s relationship with Ed Woodward is not the best. The failure to sign either Harry Maguire or Toby Alderweireld has caused a rift between the pair (h/t Express).

However, the Portuguese manager tried to ease the tension in his latest press conference. The report adds that Mourinho claimed there is no problem between him and Woodward.

United didn’t sign an attacking player in the summer but if we do get Sessegnon, it would be a coup.

The player is only 18 and will get better under the right manager. It will be interesting to see just how much we bid for him, especially after his Premier League performances this season.
