Manchester United will have to pay Robert Lewandowski ‘Alexis Sanchez’ kind of money if they are to land the Polish striker from Bayern Munich according to the Daily Star.
The Bayern striker has been linked with a move away from the Bundesliga side and the club will listen to offers more than £70million for the 29-year-old.
The report adds that Lewandowski earns £300,000-a-week at Bayern but Alexis Sanchez makes £505,000-per-week at Old Trafford. The Polish striker’s representatives have told clubs that the player will not make a move unless he gets a raise, similar to the levels of Sanchez.
There will be some competition for the 29-year-old star as Real Madrid are also interested in his services. The La Liga giants have their own problems as they need to replace Cristiano Ronaldo after he left to join Juventus.
Lewa is under contract at Bayern until 2021 and it will be interesting to see where he plays his football next season. Nevertheless, it seems unreasonable to pay Lewandowski the same amount of wages as Alexis Sanchez.
It will be tough to first pay the huge transfer fee for the 29-year-old and give him a lucrative contract too. Also, if we sign Lewandowski up, what would be Romelu Lukaku’s future?

The Belgian is a striker for the present and the future. Unless Mourinho plans to play with two strikers next season, it would be a miracle to see Lewandowski in the Red of United come the start of the season.
