Manchester United Transfer News

According to Turkish-Football, Manchester United representatives have travelled to Istanbul in order to hold talks with Galatasaray over the transfer of Bruma. The Portuguese winger has been of major interest to United ever since Jose Mourinho took over the summer. Bruma recently claimed that Mourinho has given him a lot of confidence about being capable of representing the Portuguese national team in the future. Bruma’s status has been monitored by several clubs including Tottenham, but United are keen to complete the deal before the start of the summer transfer window.

The speed merchant recently went on a strike and did not take part in training – along with other stars like Wesley Sneijder and Nigel de Jong – as a protest against manager Igor Tudor. This is one of the several incidents that have gone against Bruma and his possibility of staying at Galatasaray beyond the campaign. His contract runs out in the summer of 2018. Despite several attempts from the Turkish outfit, Bruma has been steadfastly refusing to sign a new contract.

Bruma is currently valued at around £ 17 million, but since his contract is running out soon, Galatasaray are ready to accept a bid in the region of £ 12 million. This represents an excellent value for money, especially considering that United have wasted more money on the likes of Memphis Depay in recent times. At just 22 years of age, he is only starting to make an impression at the top end of the game. Even now, he has managed to score 10 goals in 26 appearances for the club. There have also been six assists along the way.

The player joined Galatasaray way back in 2013 when he was still a teenager at a Sporting CP. Since the move, he has been on loan at Real Sociedad, where he truly blossomed as a player, before starting to make a name for himself at Galatasaray. The move to United will represent a significant jump in his career. He would also come to the club at a time when United are short on numbers following the departures of Depay, Morgan Schneiderlin, and Bastian Schweinsteiger. More names like Ashley Young, Wayne Rooney, and Zlatan Ibrahimovic are expected to leave the club in the summer transfer window.

Galatasaray will find it difficult to keep players of Bruma’s quality after falling down the pecking order in Turkish football due to their financial difficulties. The club are looking on course to missing out on the top two places, which are the only way of qualifying for the Champions League group stages from Turkish football.
