There was a time when Manchester United was linked with a number of Brazilian talents, and one of them was the current PSG starlet, Lucas Moura. The 24-year-old, back in 2013, almost joined the Old Trafford outfit, but he then decided to pack his bag to Paris.
A staggering £38m fee was paid by the French Champions to acquire the signature of the player, and now his agent, Wagner Ribeiro, has confirmed that the current Manchester United boss wants him at the Old Trafford. Since joining the French giants, the 24-year-old has made more than 150 appearances and has scored 26 goals, 13 of which came in the last season.
Ribeiro revealed Moura is on Mourinho’s radar for the next summer transfer window.
“Who called Lucas Moura (at Real Madrid), who wanted Lucas Moura wasn’t Florentino (Perez), it was Mourinho,”he said.
“Mourinho was, is, passionate for Lucas Moura. So much so that now at Manchester he wants Lucas as well.”
Many reports have claimed that Jose Mourinho has prioritized his options for the January transfer window and the French attacker Antoine Griezmann and Columbian starlet James Rodriguez are on the list. Even though the Devils have signed some stellar attacking names, they still are lacking the end product and that was very clear in the last couple of games.
All the aforementioned names are capable of sprinting through the defenders and can provide a much creative dimension to the side. Mourinho has nearly spent £150m this summer and if he tends to add more to his squad, he will obviously have to go further than what PSG paid for Moura.
