There was a report in Brazil last month that Manchester United has made a bid of £19 million for Palmeiras player Gabriel Jesus. However the facts have been brought into the light now.

O Estado de Sao Paulo had reported that the Red Devils has bid for the player. The player has a release clause of £24 million, but a clause in the contract has allowed clubs like Manchester United to activate it with a £5 million discount. The 19 year old has scored 15 goals in 54 appearances and has been named the best newcomer last year.

The player’s agent Cristiano Simones has, however told Sport Witness that the news about the bid is not correct and United has not made any contact with either the player or the agent. He has also pointed out that a club like United would definitely have a chance to purchase the player, but the cultural aspect of the move also needs to be looked at.
