Manchester United are said to be interested in the Valencia midfielder Andre Gomes. Gary Neville, a former United player and an academy product, is the current manager of Valencia where Gomes has a contract till 2020. United are just waiting for his permission so they can proceed further in the negotiations.
However his release clause is said to be £19.5 million and if triggered United could initiate a transfer. The 22-year-old midfielder’s agent is aware of the interest from Old Trafford and is said to be ready for a move. The player just joined Valencia last summer from Benfica after a year-long loan deal.
Juventus are also reported to be interested in the Portuguese player. However given the stature of Premier League Gomes will most likely choose to go to England over Italy. Manchester United’s incoming manager Jose Mourinho is said to be looking for a central midfielder and may just find the solution in his compatriot as he takes over the project to rebuild the club.
