Sir Alex bought the 18-year-old Phil Jones from Blackburn Rovers in 2011, but while he has shown signs of the skill that had made him such a highly rated prodigy, he has failed to earn a regular first team spot. He is extremely prone to injuries, and being a centre back, it has cost him heavily. Time to let go of him, we suppose.
