Kalidou Koulibaly opens up on future amidst Manchester United interest
According to Italian publication Gazzetta Dello Sport (h/t MEN), Kalidou Koulibaly has opened up on his future amidst interest from Manchester United.
The Napoli sensation is subject to interest from both Manchester clubs as they aim to put their defensive issues behind them.
“In football, you never know what happens.”
Koulibaly reveals that he has not spoken to Napoli about leaving. He does, however, appear to have left the door open by admitting that there are no uncertainties in football.
The Senegalese star has also revealed that if a solution has to be found, then it will be done so. He went on to add that he is, at this moment in time, 100% committed to playing for Napoli and that being linked to other teams affects him.
He did put the ball in club president Aurelio De Laurentiis’s court regarding his future. Koulibaly revealed that it remains to be seen if he will be offered a new contract that will see him retire at the club.
“At the moment, I still have a three-year contract and I am not thinking of anything else but Napoli.”
United went big on Harry Maguire last summer. The Englishman, to his credit, has done well. However, he is still prone to get caught flat-footed. It is alongside him that United need another reliable defender.
His preferred partner this season, Victor Lindelof is also prone to errors. Eric Bailly, on the other hand, has suffered from a myriad of fitness issues.
