Manchester United made a cinematic comeback in their recent Premier League victory against Brentford on October 19.
It was a much-needed victory for the Reds to regain the flow and momentum they had lost. While it was a complete team performance for the Reds, two goals that shaped the game came from Alejandro Garnacho and Rasmus Hojlund.
Garnacho emerged as the top performer of the game, bagging the Man of the Match award for his impeccable performance throughout the high-voltage game at Old Trafford. This marked United’s fourth victory of the season.
Class performance by Alejandro Garnacho
Decoding Garnacho’s performance, the left winger led his side’s attack from the front against the Bees. As player of the match, the 20-year-old took most shots in the game and most shots on target.
It is worth noting that the Argentine brought his side back into the game by scoring an equalizer in the 47th minute when United was struggling with their defender Matthijs de Ligt taking treatment beyond the pitch.
Ten Hag has pushed Garnacho to surpass his past season’s ten-goal haul; if the rising arc of his path is to continue, he is already midway to there.
With Erik Ten Hag’s job at stake, this win has brought a big boost to the Red Devils’ further campaign, as things have gone on a sublime note for them so far. The victory has brought United to 11th spot in the PL table in the ongoing season.
While Hojlund has started to show some promising stints since his return from injury, their skipper Bruno Fernandes has been a constant flop throughout this season.
Above all, United’s injury concerns are still a big problem for them. Their stalwart left back Luke Shaw’s return date is still unknown and their fresh signing Leny Yoro is likely to return till November only. One the other hand, a report suggests that their another new buy Kobiee Mainoo is also going through some severe muscle pain and is likely to be excluded from the squad if the situation persists. This could turn out to be a big setback for them.
