Liverpool set to battle Manchester United for 23-year-old Argentinian midfield ace

Manchester United emerged as the second highest spenders in the recently culminated summer transfer window. The English club put a keen focus on strengthening their defensive and midfield ranks. Signing in defenders like Matthijs de Ligt and Leny Yoro, they also roped in defensive midfielder Manuel Ugarte from Paris Saint Germain.

Things did not go as planned. The Reds got off to a horrible start to the Premier League season, conceding two defeats and a win in their first three games. However, marking a comeback, the Reds further won two of their last three games.

Given the current composition of his team, Erik Ten Hag remains intent on bolstering his midfield. However, this endeavor won’t be straightforward as he is expected to encounter stiff competition from numerous top clubs also vying for their preferred players.

Liverpool joins United in pursuit of midfielder Kevin Zenon

According to a peculiar report by the news outlet TBR Football, Liverpool has now joined the race alongside United to sign midfielder Kevin Zenon. Particularly a left-midfielder, Zenon is on the shortlist of several other giants like Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle.

The same report states that Anfield scouts have been present at recent Boca Juniors games, closely monitoring the 23-year-old versatile player, who is capable of operating across the entire left side of the pitch.

Zenon joined Boca Juniors from Unión Santa Fe earlier this year. The Argentine has shown a promising stint so far, scoring four goals and seven assists across 35 appearances so far for the Blue and Gold.

With four English giants in the line, alongside interests from Spain and Germany as well, Zenon is likely to emerge as a sought-after commodity as soon as the transfer channels open. It is worth noting that the left-footed baller is likely to leave his current club by the end of the ongoing season.

It is likely to see whether United can manage to convince the young prodigy to come to Old Trafford, or whether any other club will win the race to sign him.
