"We ate them alive"- Ten Hag discontent with Manchester United performance vs Crystal Palace.

After showing flashes of brilliance in recent matches, Manchester United have unfortunately reverted to their old, uninspired style of play. Unfortunately for Erik ten Hag and Co, this did not translate to three points for the Red Devils.

Their goalless draw against Crystal Palace last night highlighted this decline. Despite dominating possession and creating several opportunities, the Reds failed to convert any of them into the decisive goal they desperately needed.

It’s clear that there’s still a long road ahead for United, who have struggled through the early stages of the season. This disappointing draw leaves them sitting 11th in the Premier League table, with two wins, two losses, and a draw from their first five games.

Ten Hag sheds light on United’s performance

Following the draw at Selhurst Park, United manager Ten Hag addressed where his team fell short. The Dutchman acknowledged the dominance his side displayed throughout the match.

He emphasized that United should have capitalized on their opportunities and scored at least once, if not twice, in the first half to secure the victory. According to Sky Sports, here is what he said:

“When we don’t win, I’m not content,” we should have won. I think first half, we ate them alive. Then in the second half it was more in the balance, but first half, we should have scored one or two goals.”

United certainly need a solid revival plan to get their season back on track. It’s worth noting

that their recent two victories didn’t come against top-tier opponents.

This highlights the fact that there are still several areas within the team that need significant improvement.

As the Red Devils prepare for their Europa League opener against Dutch side Twente, they will be eager to set a positive tone for the campaign. The probable starting XI remains uncertain, but fans are already speculating on the best lineup for the crucial game. What would your ideal United XI be for their upcoming match?
