Manchester United had an extremely productive summer transfer window, as new co-owners INEOS made their mark on the squad.

In Joshua Zirkzee, Leny Yoro, Matthijs de Ligt, Noussair Mazraoui and Manuel Ugarte, the Reds addressed problems almost in every position. It was the first transfer window under INEOS and they excelled, with their long-term strategy mirroring through the recruitment of five fresh players.

As the management and scouts are still hunting, there’s new transfer news that has come to light. According to an exclusive report from TEAMTalk, Manchester United are set to battle Liverpool and Chelsea for the signing of Bournemouth left-back Milos Kerkez.

Milos Kerkez signed for Bournemouth from in the summer of 2023 from Dutch side AZ Alkmaar. The left-back has been a regular fixture in Andoni Iraola’s side, racking up 28 Premier League appearances in his debut season. He has started the opening four Premier League games of the new season, catching the eye with his technical skills.

The Hungary international has shown enough potential to attract interest from top Premier League clubs including Man United. The aforementioned report adds INEOS have made Kerkez a target for the 2025 summer transfer window as any move in January would see the Cherries charge a premium.

Man United are supposedly looking to improve the left-back position in the future with Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia continuing to have injury issues. Shaw has been injury-prone for quite some years now, making his availability often a question mark. Malacia was the victim of two botched knee surgeries which led to him missing the entirety of the 2023/24 season.

As things stand, both the United left-backs are yet to play this

campaign. Thus, it makes sense for the club to look out for a new left-back and Kerkez fits the criteria perfectly. The 20-year-old, who earns £30,000-per-week at the Vitality Stadium, has the mix of technical qualities and physical attributes to be a hit for the Red Devils.

In just over a year, the Hungarian has developed into one of the most exciting young left-backs in the Premier League, and with time, age and maturity, he could become the best in his position. Kerkez would be an excellent long-term replacement for Shaw, who just cannot stay fit and perform at the required level.
