With the summer transfer just concluded, Manchester United have already started laying plans for the next window as the chiefs at Old Trafford look to ensure that the club continues to grow and build on the incomings made in the past couple of months.

The Manchester Reds are looking to add Sevilla prospect Juanlu Sanchez to the ranks at Carrington next year, per AS, as relayed by Sport Witness. United are set to compete with Spanish giants Real Madrid for his signatures.

Juanlu Sanchez has impressed in La Liga and International competition

Can United outbid Real Madrid for promising talent Juanlu Sanchez?

Juanlu Sanchez has been the shining light for Sevilla in the past year, where they have continued to struggle in the Spanish top tier. The player has called Sevilla home since 2017, when he moved from Altair.

He has been playing in Sevilla’s youth ranks before progressing into a senior spot and going to make his debut for the Andalusian outfit in December 2021. And he has grown in abundance since then, having established himself as one of the best young players in the country.

The 21-year-old has gone on to don the Sevilla badge for nearly 50 times while contributing to a couple of goals and three assists and has a €20m release clause with his current employers.

He was also a part of Spain’s squad for the 2024 Paris Olympics team that won the gold medal by beating Thierry Henry’s France in the finale.

Juanlu Sanchez’ versatility offers Ten Hag tactical flexibility

Juanlu Sanchez’ rise has not gone unnoticed, with some of the biggest names in world football interested in his signatures as Real Madrid keep a keen eye on his services alongside Manchester United. He is a right winger by trade but can also feature in the defensive role on the right flank. Additionally, he can also play in the defensive midfielder role, a position where Garcia Pimienta has deployed him in the current term.

United would be blessed by his versatile profile, as it gives Erik ten Hag more room to experiment with his tactics in game.
