Manchester United learn how much they need to pay to sign 23-year-old Serie A defender

As Manchester United continue their poor run of form in club football, their scouts have also been active, this time spotted in Italy.

United’s scouts are currently in Turin as they consider bringing in a young talent to Old Trafford who could be a perfect fit for the club’s dynamics.

Despite having already made significant investments in their defensive ranks during the recently closed 2024/25 summer transfer window—signing top talents like Matthijs de Ligt from Bayern Munich and Leny Yoro from Lille—United are still seeking more reinforcements for their backline.

Manchester United want left-back Juan Cabal

According to a report by Italian news outlet Tutto Juve, United’s scouts have shown a keen interest in the dynamic left-back Juan Cabal, who is currently playing for Juventus in Serie A.

The young player has had promising performances so far, catching the attention of the English giants, who are reportedly eyeing him as a potential replacement for their veteran defender Luke Shaw.

The 23-year-old Colombian recently moved to Juventus from Hellas Verona on a permanent deal a few months ago.

The report also mentions that the Italian giants are likely to demand at least €30 million for the transfer of Cabal to Old Trafford.

Given the current situation at Manchester United, things aren’t looking good for Erik ten Hag and his team, who have endured a tough start to the season with two losses and one win in their first three games. The defence has been in disarray, with sloppy errors evident in their recent 3-0 defeat to Liverpool.

However, signing Cabal would provide the team with fresh, young talent in their defensive ranks, which could be a significant boost for the English club. Let’s see if the club make this happen in the days to come.
