Manchester United are preparing for a frantic finale to the transfer window, as they may conclude multiple outgoings and incoming transfers before August 30, but, amid all the buzz, the curious case of Jadon Sancho’s transfer does not seem to find a happy ending, perhaps as of now.
Sancho’s probable move to Italy has landed in turmoil as Juventus have completed the signing of their priority target Francisco Conceicao from Porto on a loan deal, costing the Italian club a total of €7m plus €3m add-ons. The Turin-based club is now keen on roping midfielder Teun Koopmeiners.
As reported by Fabrizio Romano, the Turin-based club has booked medical tests for the 26-year-old on Wednesday morning. If Atalanta signs all documents by Tuesday, Teun will travel to Turin already tonight.
Decoding Sancho’s prospects in Turin
According to Manchester Evening News, conversations about a potential move for Sancho have already begun since the 24-year-old’s camp flew to Italy on Monday. United are keen to get him off their books permanently but they are also open to a loan deal.
On the contrary, Juventus are keen on only an option to buy, which could leave the English Giants in a tricky position next summer if Sancho returns.
However, The Old Lady, having completed their desired signings is yet to shed a clear picture of the former Borussia Dortmund professional’s arrival.
It is worth noting that Sancho has been dropped from United’s matchday squads for the opening two games of the season so far.
Chelsea’s interest in Jadon Sancho
As per a report by metro.co.uk, Chelsea have also marked their interest in Sancho, and are probably exploring options for a peculiar swap deal, which could witness star winger Raheem Sterling landing at Old Trafford.
It’s not a swap deal Manchester United should be looking at. Sterling is no longer the player he once was and signing a former Manchester City player is unlikely to go down well with the fanbase.
Selling Sancho might not be such a bad thing for the squad but doing so to bring Sterling is a huge NO! We seriously hope Man Utd don’t go down this road but let’s see how this particular transfer saga pans out.
