Man United get Marcus Rashford injury boost ahead of US tour

Marcus Rashford is expected to travel with the Manchester United squad for the US tour

According to a report from the Manchester Evening News, Marcus Rashford trained with his teammates ahead of Manchester United jetting off to the United States of America for their pre-season tour.

The England international missed the friendly win over Rangers last weekend because of a slight niggle. He was on the absentee list along with Victor Lindelof, Harry Maguire and Antony, as Erik ten Hag’s side ran out 2-0 winners against Philipp Clement’s Rangers side.

Marcus Rashford, however, did feature in the Red Devils’ first pre-season game against Rosenborg in Norway last week. He started the game and played 45 minutes as Man United were beaten 1-0 by Rosenborg in stoppage time in Trondheim.

The 26-year-old struggled for form and consistency this past season, failing to build on his electrifying 2022/23 season where he bagged 30 goals across all competitions—his most productive year in the famous Red shirt which earned him a lucrative contract. The forward managed only eight strikes amid off-field issues, which raised speculation over his future at Old Trafford after INEOS takeover as minority shareholders.

Despite not being in the best of forms, Erik ten Hag handed the Englishman a start on the left flank against Manchester City in the FA Cup final. He contributed to the move that led to Kobbie Mainoo’s goal and justified his selection, as Ten Hag’s side defeated Man City 2-1 to lift the FA Cup.

Rashford’s poor season for his club led to him being omitted from the England squad for the Euro 2024. It was a term to forget for our No.10, who continues to be linked with a move to Paris Saint-Germain.

Marcus Rashford We All Follow United
Marcus Rashford should be desperate to get his mojo back after a frustrating 2023/24 season.

We are unlikely to contemplate cashing in on our star forward ahead of getting the 2024/25 season underway against Fulham on August 16, meaning Rashford is in line to remain at the club instead of embarking on a new adventure.

The upcoming US pre-season tour is extremely vital for the English forward in order to achieve his peak fitness levels and get himself ready for the start of the new Premier League campaign. Despite not managing to unlock his true potential, Rashford remains one of the key players in Ten Hag’s squad and he will be desperate to get back his mojo.

Let’s hope our academy graduate stays injury-free and produces the best campaign of his career at the Theatre of Dreams.
