Man Utd desperate to dump Antony

Manchester United is looking to let star winger Antony leave this summer, and the Premier League club is willing to accept either a permanent or a loan deal to ensure that the Brazilian is not among the dressing room at Old Trafford next season, per Football Insider.

The former Ajax ace will be allowed to leave on loan as long as the bidding club covers his £100,000-a-week wages for the next season.

The 24-year-old moved to Old Trafford in 2022 following a highly anticipated £86 million transfer from Ajax and has largely struggled in the English top tier despite scoring only 35 minutes into his debut.

And following a string of disappointing performances, United are willing to offload the 24-year-old’s services. The Brazilian only scored one goal in the Premier League last season and has lately struggled to put two performances together.

The pace and power of the Premiership have been too much for him to handle, and United cannot go another season with such bleak performances from one of the attacking players next season.

High wages hindering Antony’s exit

Antony comes with hefty wages, and this makes it difficult to see any potential clubs lining up such a significant wage bill to pursue his signature in the current market, which makes it difficult for the club to off-loan his services.

For United, having Sancho back means they can push to loan or sell Antony, with Garnacho taking on the reins on the right wing. And getting Antony off the books makes financial sense as he takes away a hefty wage bill, which can help the club explore deals for other players like De Ligt and Ugarte.
