Juventus could offer Federico Chiesa in swap deal for Manchester United’s Jadon Sancho.
Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag and forward Jadon Sancho had a public falling out last season which resulted in the player leaving the club for a six-month loan at Borussia Dortmund.
Sancho’s highlight was reaching the Champions League final with the Bundesliga giants.
Following the end of his loan, he has returned to training at Carrington ahead of 2024/25 having put last year’s issues to bed with the manager.
There still remains a wide expectation that he will leave Old Trafford this summer to pursue a regular spot elsewhere with Juventus circling around his situation.
The Serie A giants are awaiting Matias Soule’s sale to Leicester City to raise funds for Sancho’s transfer. However, they are also willing to offer an attractive swap deal to the Red Devils.
According to TeamTALK (who cite ESPN), the Bianconeri are prepared to send Federico Chiesa on loan to Old Trafford in a swap for the Englishman to cheapen the overall cost of his transfer.
It looks unlikely that Chiesa will pen a contract extension beyond 2025 in Turin and therefore, Manchester United may have a shot at landing him if he is indeed included in a deal for Sancho.
Although the winger did not enjoy the best of campaigns at Euro 2024, he remains a fantastic player and has the best years of his career ahead of him.
Chiesa first rose to global prominence after guiding Italy to victory at Euro 2020 and has improved significantly since his transfer to Juventus.
Though United are not actively looking for a winger, they may be tempted by the forward’s inclusion in a swap deal as he would be a direct replacement for Sancho and a valuable addition if Mason Greenwood also leaves.
An initial year on loan would also allow them the opportunity to closely monitor the player before potentially making his transfer permanent next year.
