Manchester United star Alejandro Garnacho makes Instagram post as Argentina make 2024 Copa América semi-finals
Alejandro Garnacho took to Instagram to celebrate Argentina’s progression to the semi-finals of the 2024 Copa América.
The Albiceleste had to take Ecuador to penalties as the two sides remained level at 1-1 after regular time. Emi Martínez was the hero for Argentina once again as he delivered for his country in the shootout, which Argentina went on to win 4-2.
Garnacho was an unused substitute in Argentina’s quarter-final win over Ecuador. United’s Lisandro Martínez was named man of the match by FotMob.
Argentina will face either Canada or Venezuela in the semi-final, with the two sides set to clash later today.
Garnacho’s inclusion into Argentina’s 2024 Copa América squad arrived on the back of a coming-of-age campaign with Man United, which saw him graduate into one of the first names on the team sheet. There have been rumours recently linking him to a move away from Old Trafford, though neither the player nor United have shown any interest in entertaining them.
Garnacho’s current £50,000-a-week contract at Man United is set to run until June 2028.
The good times continue for United’s winged talisman
Garnacho may not be getting regular minutes for Argentina right now, but his presence at the ongoing Copa América is still crucial for his growth as a player.
Argentina are currently one of the best sides in the world and on a trophy-winning run, which has come about on the back of a lot of resilient performances. Experiencing these travails while being in the dressing room is only going to help Garnacho become stronger.
