Former Manchester United star gives two-word reaction following an awkward reunion with Jose Mourinho
Former Manchester United star, Fred recently reunited with his former boss Jose Mourinho at Fenerbahce. The Brazilian midfielder is currently preparing to play under the Portuguese manager next season. Fred’s fortunes have somewhat turned around ever since he moved to the Turkish side.
The Brazilian made 35 appearances last season playing as a central midfielder. Fred was a key part of Fenerbahce’s middle line and did an excellent job. The 31-year-old finished his season with three goals and eight assists. Things were not so good for Fred when he played under Jose Mourinho at Manchester United.
The Portuguese manager seldom ever gave minutes to the Brazilian midfielder. Moreover, he was even dropped from Brazil’s team because of his lack of minutes under Jose Mourinho. Here’s what Fred had to say about playing under him. (h/t Manchester Evening News)
“I’ve played very little at United, so it’s normal for Professor Tite not to be able to evaluate me, even though I’ve worked hard with him before.
“Of course, I was annoyed, but I have to know how to deal with the sadness to be able to help me take a step forward. The coach has chosen not to put me in the team.”
Fred went on to say that his season at Manchester United had been incredibly different that year because of his lack of minutes. However, the Brazilian also said that he will focus on his job and continue to work hard regardless of what is happening.
Fred mentioned that he won’t let his lack of minutes shake him and that has surely been the case. Playing for Fenerbahce isn’t as glorious as playing for Manchester United or featuring for Brazil’s team. However, the Brazilian midfielder is playing regular football, which is more than enough.
Fred shared his two-word reaction to Mourniho’s arrival and their reunion on his Instagram. The player simply wrote “New Season” on top of a picture of him with his thumb up.
