£70m Manchester United superstar's Saudi Arabia deal 'falls through' after mixed season

Mixed performances from last season might’ve stopped Manchester United superstar’s Saudi Arabia deal

As reported by Christopher Michelis (h/t Manchester Evening News), Manchester United superstar, Casemiro’s Saudi Arabia deal ‘fell through’ a few days ago. It is being reported that negotiations were at an advanced stage but things didn’t work out.

Manchester United paid £70m for the Brazilian midfielder back in 2022. Since then Casemiro has had one successful campaign with them. However, his performance this past season left a lot to be desired.

Now at 32, it is hard to see the Brazilian improving and going back to the player he used to be. A deal with a Saudi Arabia side would’ve been the ideal scenario for Manchester United however, that avenue seems shut now.

Teams from the Saudi Pro League are the few who were willing to pay Manchester United midfielder, Casemiro’s fee and meet his wage demands. With them out of the picture, the Red Devils will have a tough time moving the Brazilian.

With the way he’s been playing lately, a lucrative offer for Casemiro seems sort of unrealistic. However, United needs to figure something out because his wages are way too high for the sort of player he is now.

It’ll be interesting to see what kind of approach Manchester United will take now that Casemiro’s staying at Old Trafford has become a real possibility.

If Casemiro ends up playing for Manchester United next season, the team should try renegotiating his contract. The Brazilian is currently the team’s highest-paid player making £350,000 a week.
