Besiktas is keen on signing the outgoing Manchester United star forward Anthony Martial
Turkish giants, Besiktas, are keen on securing the services of outgoing Manchester United star attacker Anthony Martial. They have already begun their transfer negotiations with the 28-year-old. This is according to journalist Gokmen Ozcan.
Anthony Martial’s nine-year tenure with Manchester United came to a formal end last month when he confirmed his exit this summer. The French forward is now looking for his next potential destination.
Martial has sustained a number of injuries recently, but he is still a desirable addition for a number of teams. Lyon and Marseille, two Ligue 1 teams, have also indicated interest in signing him this summer.
What led to the fallout of the star?
The French international played 317 games and scored 90 goals in his nine years with the team, but it’s safe to say his skills have deteriorated. Martial has only made 13 Premier League appearances this season and has only scored one goal due to his three seasons of injury troubles.
Martial, the most expensive teenager in the world at the time, left Monaco to join the Red Devils in 2015 for a fee of £44.5 million. Since then, he has experienced some highlights at Old Trafford, including two FA Cup victories, a Carabao Cup, and a Europa League victory.
Since his injury and form struggles started, the 28-year-old started his loan stint at Sevilla in the 2021–22 campaign. Martial couldn’t do much at Sevilla either, making just 12 appearances for the club and scoring one goal.
Martial, who hasn’t played since December, is currently looking for a new place to call home where he can get back to full fitness and start seeing regular action to try and realise his true potential.
