Bayern Munich have identified Manchester United star Casemiro as a transfer target
Brazilian outlet Trivela has reported that Bayern Munich recently held conversations with Manchester United ace Casemiro over a possible switch this summer as part of Vincent Kompany’s squad rebuild.
The Brazilian has been widely linked with leaving Old Trafford this summer after his form has been extremely poor in recent months, and in the overall picture, the expensive transfer from Real Madrid has not worked out as all parties would have liked.
Casemiro was one of the world’s best defensive midfielders before joining Man United and it looked as though Bayern Munich would offer him a route to reignite his career in Europe itself amid links to Saudi Arabia.
However, the talks between the Bundesliga giants and Casemiro are unlikely to materialise with Bayern expected to progress with Joao Palhinha’s signing as initially anticipated.
Casemiro’s possible move to the Allianz Arena falling apart is good news for Manchester United as his only realistic destination for next season remains Saudi Arabia.
Vincent Kompany’s side would not have been ready to pay the kind of money the Middle Eastern clubs can and as such, Casemiro’s sale to a Saudi Pro League club will help United in various dimensions.
First and foremost, they will be able to nullify their losses on his investment sizably and secondly, the proceeds from his sale will only add to Erik ten Hag’s transfer budget for the summer.
