Manchester United linked with surprise Alvaro Morata transfer as bargain release clause comes to light

Manchester United star shows support for Spanish teammate, Alvaro Morata after not making the cut for the EUROs.

Manchester United loanee, Sergi Reguilon was one of the more impressive transfers for United last season. Even though the LB left the team and rejoined Tottenham back in January he displayed a lot of promise when he made an appearance.

Throughout last season Reguilon ended up making 28 appearances and recorded four assists. If he hadn’t had to adapt to two different settings due to his loan spells, the Spaniard might’ve had a more impressive season.

Reguilon has all the qualities he needs to play for Spain in the EUROs. Unfortunately, he didn’t get a chance this year. But that hasn’t stopped him from backing the team and the 27-year-old even took to Instagram to show support for his teammate Alvaro Morata.

Unfortunately for Reguilon time is running out for him. He is currently, 27 years old and is yet to solidify himself as a starter on any squad that he’s been on. Unless he can perform at a different level starting from next season, the Spaniard might never get to make an appearance at the EUROs.

Reguilon hasn’t had any luck playing under Ange Postecoglou and next season might not change that. However, we might see the 27-year-old get some playing time during pre-season as returning loanees usually do.

If Reguilon gets consistent minutes during pre-season with the Spurs, he might be able to do enough to earn himself some extra minutes during the regular season as well.
