Barcelona remain keen on Manchester United sensation Kobbie Mainoo
According to Belgian football journalist Sacha Tavolieri, Barcelona remain keen towards exploring the options for Man United’s Kobbie Mainoo this summer.
Reports have been surfacing in recent weeks linking the England international with a move away from Manchester, with tabloids in Spain suggesting the Blaugrana could even offer United players in a swap deal.
Both United and Mainoo’s representatives are also keen on exploring the opportunity of getting the latter a new and improved deal at Old Trafford. The 19-year-old signed a contract extension only last year.
The 2023/24 season has been a transformative one for Mainoo, who has in turn been transformative for United as he has gone on to become a mainstay in the first team starting XI and broken into the senior England setup as well.
Mainoo is currently in Germany with the England national team for UEFA Euro 2024. His current contract with United, set to run until June 2027, fetches him £20k per week.
Mainoo is not going anywhere
Born in Stockport and having come through the United academy, Mainoo is very unlikely to move away from Old Trafford at a time when he has become a mainstay in the starting XI.
Had he been a promising player at another club, it would have been hard to make a case for him to join United, so it’s lucky for the Old Trafford faithful that the club have discovered a diamond right in their backyard.

Mainoo may as well move to Barcelona in a not-too-distant future if United do not get their act together, but he’s not going anywhere this summer. Expect him to sign a new deal at United in the coming months.
