Victor Osimhen is convinced Manchester United will sign him this summer
According to Italian outlet II Mattino (h/t Calcio Napoli), Napoli striker Victor Osimhen is still absolutely convinced Manchester United will sign him this summer, despite Saudi Pro League side Al Ahli showing interest in paying his full release clause.
Victor Osimhen, 25, is expected to leave Napoli this summer amidst interest from several top European clubs, including Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea.
Regarded as one of the top strikers in world football, it is clear that the Italian side will only allow their star man to leave should any club pay his full release clause of £100m.
II Mattino (h/t Calcio Napoli) reports Saudi Pro League side Al Ahli are the only club at the moment willing to trigger the Nigerian international’s mammoth release clause. By doing so, they would hand Victor Osimhen a lucrative €15 million per season package for the next three years.
Al Ahli keep pushing for his signature, however, the 25-year-old is convinced that ultimately he will end up in the Premier League.
With Erik ten Hag’s future at Old Trafford reportedly resolved, new co-owners INEOS will look to back him in the transfer market with multiple signings. Striker is one position Manchester United are looking at reinforcing, with Rasmus Hojlund the only recognised No.9 left after Anthony Martial’s exit at the end of last season.
Victor Osimhen has been on our club’s radar for some time now. He seems keen to leave Napoli this summer and is convinced the Red Devils will make a move for him. However, with INEOS working on a tight budget in their first transfer window, it looks unlikely they would sanction such an expensive move and fulfil the Napoli star’s wishes.

A budgetary striker signing has to be on Man United’s agenda that will enhance Erik ten Hag’s attack as well as help Hojlund in his development. As Napoli are hellbent on not providing any discounts to Osimhen’s £100m release clause, we may just pass on him and look out for alternative targets.
