Manchester United have approached Hoffenheim for Maximilian Beier
Manchester United have initiated discussions with Hoffenheim regarding the potential transfer of forward Maximilian Beier ahead of the summer transfer window. However, they are not the only Premier League club expressing interest, with Liverpool, Nottingham Forest, and Brentford also reportedly considering moves for the young attacker.
Maximilian Beier, aged 21, had an outstanding Bundesliga season in 2023/2024, contributing 16 goals and three assists in 33 appearances. Despite playing in Germany’s second tier just last season, he remarkably finished fifth in the top division’s Golden Boot rankings this term, showcasing his rapid rise and attracting attention from various clubs.
Manchester United have taken the initial step among all the interested clubs. The Sun reports that they have inquired about the conditions for acquiring Beier and have been informed about his release clause of €32.5 million. This clause, typical in Germany, decreases by €2.5 million annually.
The significant sum may prompt Manchester United, Liverpool, Nottingham Forest, or Brentford to await further development from the young talent before making a decision on potential transfers.
Beier, a flexible attacker who favors his right foot, demonstrates proficiency with his left foot as well. His playing style is characterized by precise timing and anticipation, enabling him to capitalize on gaps and execute strategic forward movements. Beier is particularly adept at generating and capitalizing on goal-scoring opportunities, showcasing remarkable dribbling skills, spatial awareness, and the capability to convert defensive situations into scoring chances.
