Sevilla star Youssef En-Nesyri linked with a move to Old Trafford

According to journalist Mazime de la Cruz Ramirez Ramirez, Manchester United are planning to send a formal offer to Sevilla for striker Youssef En-Nesyri in the coming days. The offer is expected to be in the region of €15-20m.

One of Manchester United’s priorities for the summer is to land an experienced striker to share some of the goalscoring burden from Rasmus Hojlund. The Denmark international, 21, enjoyed a fine debut season at Old Trafford following his transfer from Atalanta, netting 16 goals in 43 games across all competitions.

However, it remains clear that the 21-year-old cannot be solely relied upon to lead the Manchester United attack every week and deliver the goods consistently. Hojlund is still raw and may benefit from working alongside a seasoned campaigner.

Anthony Martial is set to leave the club once his contract expires at the end of June, so he will also require replacing before the 2024/25 campaign commences.

On Sunday, Mazime de la Cruz Ramirez Ramirez took to X and provided an update on the Red Devils’ chase of Sevilla striker Youssef En-Nesyri.

Youssef En-Nesyri, 27, was excellent for Sevilla in 2023/24 and netted 20 goals in 41 outings. The Morocco international has been a reliable source of goals for the Spanish side over the years and could be a low-cost option for Manchester United this summer, given his contract expires in 2025.

Man United have been given the green light to begin their operation to sign En-Nesyri from Sevilla, Ramirez further tweeted.

The Sevilla hitman has been linked to the Premier League for some time, with West Ham United thought to be among his admirers. With his contract poised to expire at the end of 2024/25 campaign, this summer could finally be the moment for En-Nesyri to swap La Liga for the Premier League.

There is no doubt that Man United need an experienced striker to cover and compete with Hojlund. Erik ten Hag’s side managed only 57 goals in the Premier League this past season, which illustrates the requirement for a new centre-forward who is lethal in the box.

En-Nesyri fits that bill as he is capable of doing a job for the Red Devils. That said, it will be intriguing to see if Sevilla accepts our offer, which as per Ramirez will be tabled in the next few days.
