Man United Look to offload Sancho for £40m to ease financial burden
Manchester United FC are looking to sell Jadon Sancho on a permanent move in the upcoming summer transfer window, and the Red Devils are set to leverage the England international’s recent performance to ensure they get a commendable financial windfall.
Sancho joined United from Dortmund on the back of massive speculations of his move to Old Trafford for £73 million in July 2021. He has two years left on his contract at Carrington. However, his return to the city hasn’t been as successful as he failed to replicate his German impact in the Premier League.
Things have gone from bad to worse for the England international since Erik ten Hag refused to make do with his attitude in training and shipped him where he came from, if only on a temporary basis. He has been loving his time back in the Bundesliga and has been playing some exceptional football for the UEFA Champions League finalists.
Manchester City academy graduate was left out of United’s roster by the Dutch gaffer in Arsenal’s defeat last year, and the United boss fired shots over his performances in training publicly, which didn’t go down well with Jadon Sancho.
Cutting their Losses
With Financial Fair Play compliance looming over United’s head, they would want to sell before getting into big-money marquee signings. This ensures they have the leeway to balance their books and avoid any potential sanctions or penalties for breaching financial regulations. By selling the 24-year-old ace, the club can restrict financial risks and maintain stability within the financial structure.
To boost his potential sale, United have put a mere £40 million price tag on Jadon Sancho, per the BBC.
With ETH set to stay, it looks like Sancho will be shown the door in the off-season. Multiple clubs have inquired about the winger, and it is to be seen if any club fortifies their interest in the lead-up to the transfer window.
