Manchester United reject €10m lowball offer from Galatasaray for 26-year-old star

Manchester United turn down Galatasaray’s first bid for Aaron Wan-Bissaka

Manchester United have rejected a primary bid from Turkish giants Galatasaray for right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka, according to news outlet FotoMac.

The Red Devils were offered €10 million at first for the former Crystal Palace full-back, who has already agreed personal terms with Galatasaray that include a salary of €2.5 million per season.

While Manchester United rejected Galatasaray’s initial approach, the negotiations are ongoing between both clubs and it is expected that the Turks will return with a better offering soon.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka is wanted by Galatasaray after their dissatisfaction with Serge Aurier’s performances at the backend of last season. The 31-year-old will not be offered a contract extension after only committing to a six-month deal in the winter.

Wan-Bissaka has been in Erik ten Hag’s plans, having appeared 30 times in all competitions last season. However, his lack of offensive nature has made him unidimensional, forcing the manager to use Diogo Dalot as his primary choice, with the Portuguese playing 50 times across all competitions.

Wan-Bissaka’s situation is unlikely to improve heading into next season and it is foreseen that he will leave Manchester United. Galatasaray may provide a new challenge for the 26-year-old.

It is still unclear how much Manchester United’s asking price is for the English U21 international, but Transfermarkt values the player at €20 million, a figure that will likely please the Red Devils.

They spent €55 million, including bonuses on landing him from Crystal Palace in 2019 and given that they are selling Wan-Bissaka at only 26 years of age, Manchester United will look to cut their losses as much as possible by yielding a higher transfer fee from Galatasaray.
